New E-Resource: Marine Digimap

The recent trial of Marine Digimap was a success and we have now purchased a subscription which will run until 31 July 2012 in the first instance.

This resource contains scanned and georeferenced marine maps at scales ranging from 1:3,500,000 to 1:2,500 available for making maps online or for download.

Products included are:
  • SeaZone Hydrospatial Data, a vector dataset available in ArcGIS and MapInfo formats.  This dataset contains an array of different features including bathymetry, ship wrecks, economical information, ecological data, structures and obstructions.
  • SeaZone Charted Raster Data, based on scanned and geocoded images of the well known Admiralty Chart series and is available for immediate use in GIS, without the need for additional software.
